Dance in a Day: 27 Apr (Stellenbosch)
In Stellenbosch, we offer a special two-part Dance in a Day workshop that accommodates both brand new and novice (level 1 and level 2) dancers. This is a great way to learn some of the basics we teach in our weekly Level 1 classes, plus some fun “next level” material – all in one go. Each month will focus on different material from swing, jazz, and Charleston. You may join for both parts or just one.
April Dance Theme: Kick it with Charleston!
PART 1: Get the basics (13h00-14h00)
The first hour is designed for complete beginners (no partner or experience required). We will learn some introductory swing steps, enough to have you dancing comfortably and cutting a rug by the end! Attendees are welcome to book for Part 1, then upgrade to Part 2 on the day if you’re feeling comfortable with the basics.
PART 2: Pick up the pace (14h15-16h15)
We will spend the next two hours working on some fun material that builds on the basics. This is a standalone block (i.e. we won’t be recapping Part 1) designed for dancers who are comfortable with the fundamentals and want to work more on technique, expand their vocabulary, and dance more. Note that the price for Part 2 is the same for attending both sections – essentially, Part 1 is a freebie for more experienced dancers to practice their basics and dance with new people!
Some notes about preparing for the workshop:
– Bring flats, sneakers or other soft shoes — NO high heels or sharp shoes
– Bring water and snacks (we will have breaks)
– Bookings are essential! We need a minimum of 10 bookings to hold the workshop (we will notify you the night before in the event that the workshop is postponed).
